Springing Into Action_Spring 2013 Trends

“I like to think of myself as being fashion-conscious without being a slave to fashion.”
Annni-Frid Lyngstad

I always say “better late than never” so if you truly want to shape up this year, start with shaping up your wardrobe; so let’s get a head start and take action as Spring 2013 is nigh. Many of you are still caught up with the fashion from Fall/Winter 2012 and mesmerized with  Fall/Winter 2013, but now is the time to go through the process of preparing your wardrobe for the big transition to Spring. As the flowers start to bloom it will soon be time to shed all the layers of clothing and start to bare some skin. Therefore, the task at hand now is to carefully go over the profusion of fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2013 and choose your fashion “must haves “.  I don’t mean for you to become a fashion addict following every trend of the season in order to look fab, but identifying with a look, that fits your personal style and staying fashionable, stylish and chic.

The key is to know your silhouette and choose what compliments your body shape best them select only what you feel comfortable and confident in. Also bear in mind to pick pieces, colours, prints and patterns that are versatile which could work for more than one look as some trends tend to change through the course of the season. Finally, remember to enhance your look with accessories, whether they be simple or statement pieces.

Here are some trends that will definitely get you easily noticed:

Blog’s First Birthday

happy birthday radical trendsetters

They say times flies when you’re having fun and oh how the time has flown, Radical Trendsetters is surely growing and it’s a year old today (insert happy dance). For me it’s a day filled with celebration, pride and joy and it means so much to me. I can remember my first post like it was yesterday and from then till now I am truly grateful to all of you for reading my posts and commenting.  When I look at my journey through this first year I refer to it as a beautiful garden, you can find the odd pretty bunch of wildflowers or wayward orchids along the road but you won’t find a beautiful garden just sprung up roadside. A garden requires someone to nurture and continue to care for it and such are the things of life which shows that hard work, determination, and persistence truly pays off. From that note, I can’t wait to see what the second year of blogging will bring and I look forward to sharing it with you. Thank you for your continuous support and love.

Happy Birthday Radical Trendsetters, cheers to the 1st year of existence and to many more to come.

Valentine’s Day Outifts

He love me, he loves me not,

Forget that old saying, I still going look hot.

Natz Eastmond

Valentine’s Day is coming once again and nearly everything and everyone will be covered in red, some love this time of the month while others dread it. However after living in Venezuela were they refer to this day as “the day of love and friendship” (El Día de Amor y Amistad), I feel that we can all enjoy this day  even if you don’t have a significant other. My first ever Valentine was my mom and even up till now she still gives me a nice card, a rose and chocolate every year. So, we can still celebrate this day and appreciate all the love received throughout our lives from family and friends. Come on, we don’t need to be “in love” to look chic. Whether you plan to spend that day or night on a date, hanging out with some friends or ride out the day solo  home watching movies, it doesn’t matter.

So if you’re looking for some outfit ideas with colors other than the traditional all over red here are a few:

The Date

Wear something that is flirty and  adds charm.

  • Pink Dress
Pretty In Pink
  • The Little Black Dress
A Pop of Red
  • Floral Print

Riding Solo/ Night on the Town / Hanging Out With Friends

Try wearing something that’s chic and comfortable.

Free Spirit
Let's Tango
Life Is A Peach
So however you decide to spend Valentine’s Day, stay chic and fab!
