Louvre Museum_Paris

Not even the cold weather of snow-covered Paris could damper the display of the designers from Paris Spring Couture Week. It was a week filled of great imagination and craftsmanship as the fashion houses out did themselves with over the top elegant, one-of-a-kind looks. Paris Spring Couture was like an enchanted wonderland as there was what felt like a non stop parade of head-turning creations and it surely did not disappoint. As the Oscars are just a few weeks away and I can bet that some nominees and attendees already have their eyes on some designs already.

Weekly Obsessions:Backpacks

So it’s that time of year again when most people are caught up with the Back to School fever. Everyone wants to look their best so getting a new wardrobe is a must and a new backpack is essential. This doesn’t mean that we who are out of educational system can sport this look. I’m not referring to the bulky book bag but rather the snazzy baby-doll versions, they tend to add a retro vintage vibe to your look. For us, it Back to Cool, as these backpacks can go from work to play as we wont be hauling heavy book around but pure style. So don’t be afraid to take one for a day the office or to the mall as they come in a wide variety of style from office chic to a much more relax vibe. So whether you fancy the designer brands ones or not, pick up one of these cuties and lighten your mood and load.

The Couture Round-Up

The scoop is finally in on the couture looks at Couture Fashion Week held in Paris. This event  is one of the most glamorous events on the fashion calendar featuring luxurious, over-the-top collections. When it comes to couture you have to think of the whole package, not only are there the breath-taking gowns and tailored suits but there is also the beauty aspect as well.  During the Couture Fashion Week, models graced the catwalk with their  faces covered,  strongly  emphasised  make-up or the nude look along with eye-catching hairstyles, all drapped in the designers creations.  At the end of the shows one can see that there wasn’t any shortage of creativity exhibited in the masterpieces.

This year there were shows from the likes of Valentino, Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Martin Margiela, Versace and more.
