Couture Week 2015 Wearable Hair and Beauty Trends

S/S 2015 Couture Trends

Hey Trendsetters, we all know that Couture Fashion Week is known for its beautiful, over exaggerated, crazy-chic, theatrical designs as shown in My Top S/S 2015 Couture Collections but its not all about the clothing. The hair, makeup and the accessories pull together to help complete each look. This year’s Spring/Summer Couture Week 2015 showcased some covetable, wearable beauty and hair trends, so go ahead and take your pick from some of my favourite inspirational looks…..

Halo Braids

Halo Braids

Forget the milkmaid braid and op for the more sophisticated boho-chic twisted braid variation

Chain-Link Ponytail

Chain-Link Ponytail

Create a simple and easy illusion by adding long matching hair extensions attached to metallic or primary-colored hoop(s).

Graphic Eyes

Apply eyeliner to the crease and top of eyelids and then extended outwards for a cat-eye look.

The Veiled Bow

The Veiled Bow

The veiled beanies is getting a run for its money, the new “in thing” is the mix of the veil with ribbons creating neat bows and a bit of mystery with a playful touch.

I know I will definitely be trying these out these looks will you?

The Couture Round-Up

The scoop is finally in on the couture looks at Couture Fashion Week held in Paris. This event  is one of the most glamorous events on the fashion calendar featuring luxurious, over-the-top collections. When it comes to couture you have to think of the whole package, not only are there the breath-taking gowns and tailored suits but there is also the beauty aspect as well.  During the Couture Fashion Week, models graced the catwalk with their  faces covered,  strongly  emphasised  make-up or the nude look along with eye-catching hairstyles, all drapped in the designers creations.  At the end of the shows one can see that there wasn’t any shortage of creativity exhibited in the masterpieces.

This year there were shows from the likes of Valentino, Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Martin Margiela, Versace and more.

Don’t forget to tell us your favorites in the comments!

Bag It

It is  funny how we limit our imagination to only see things as they are and not what else they can be. I  stumbled upon the handbags of spanish designer Inés Figaredo, who is definitely thinking outside the box. Her vivid designs are feminine and fun yet sophisticated, with a touch of retro.

This Madrid-born designer is causing a stir,  she is shaking up how we perceive simple accessories like handbags, with her avant-garde couture designs.  Inés combines style, art and wits for the creation of her handbags that are inspired by imagination, nature and everyday things around her. Overall Inés Figaredo’s collections offer women chic, unique pieces which she hopes will be enjoyed, shared, admired and remain around as heirlooms.

Personally I was not a big handbag fan, I own a select few to which I am very faithful to. Now after viewing Figaredo’s collections, I have become a fan and will be checking out handbags more regularly and looking to add a few more to my existing collection.
