Kenneth Barlis_ A Craftsman Of His Trade

Kenneth Barlis

They always say never judge a book by its cover and this saying absolutely applies to the talented Kenneth Barlis with his baby-face features and shy manner. Born in Pagadian City in the Philippines, Kenneth later moved to San Diego at the age of 16 with his family. Always thought to follow in his father footsteps, Kenneth career changed from medicine to fashion when he sold his first designed wedding dress. Kenneth debuted the Kenneth Barlis Collection in 2010 It wasn’t long before he was reaping success when he received the Scholar Student Award at the Projects Ethos fashion show in 2011 and later in 2012, he received top honors at Fashion Week San Diego and headlined at Barbados Fashion Week.

His Designs have also been  worn by celebrities such as Booboo Stewart of the Twilight Saga, Crystal Reed  of MTV’s Teen Wolf, Mary Murphy  of So You Think You Can Dance and Kendra Wilkinson of The Girls Next Door and Kendra On Top, among others.

Kenneth designs for the woman who enjoys an elegant and luxurious lifestyle in mind and has been making his mark on the fashion scene with his use of unorthodox textiles. His sculptured, one of a kind designs are every inch of the words exquisite, elegant and luxurious, so to just say that his work is excellent would be a mere understatement. Kenneth shows a great understanding of the feminine silhouette and it is obvious he has an eye for detail creating both regal and very sophisticated designs. He has truly proven himself to be a great craftsman of his trade and an excellent manipulator of textiles with baroque layering technique.

In This Dress I Do Wed

Every little girl dreams of that day when she will walk down the aisle as the organ spits out “dum, dum, di, dum” in the perfect dress and marry the guy of her dreams. After the 3 days of New York International Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2014, it was not hard to say that there was plenty of stunning aisle-worthy creations. Any blushing bride-to-be would be able to find herself that one special dress from the parade of brides. They came beaming down the runway in dresses by the top wedding dress designers such as Marchesa, Temperley, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta and Monique Lhuillier to name a few, that were luxurious, romantic and still edgy. These stunning beauties came in an assortment of silhouettes that created beautiful shapes all suited for every type of woman. They were the traditional modest looks, elegant slim floor-length dresses, princess-like ball gowns and even the unconventional hemlines created mostly out of choice fabrics such as lace, tulle and silk crepe. But it was the long vintage lace veils, the embellished bodices, ethereal necklines, revealing backs and unexpected colors that triggered the ooh and aahs from the attendees. Practicality was also considered by some designers as some creations incorporated skirt suits instead of dresses, head pieces instead of long veils well as dresses that could go straight from the chapel and onto the dance floor.

Radical Trendsetters 10000+ Views

To all my viewers,

Today’s special feature is for all of you who have visited and have been with following my blog from the very get go, I want to let you know how grateful and appreciative I am for your loyalty and support. Thanks to you, just shy of celebrating a year of blogging I’ve recently reached a milestone and recorded 10,000 plus views. This number may seem low and it may not be a big deal to some bloggers but to me it is and it is beyond anything I ever anticipated. I couldn’t have done it without you and throughout this experience I am able to live out my dreams and sharpen my skills and creativity. Honestly, blogging started as a hobby with the sole purpose of sharing my point on views and covering local fashion. Now the fact that it has become an extension of my life and that I would reach such a large demographic where I could meet new friends worldwide and get so many opportunities along the way is totally amazing.  I’m not a big fan of checking the stats or my blog isn’t a famous one nor am I doing it for the fame, but I’ve made it an objective of mine to maintain a high level of quality. So, the thought of thousands of people visiting my blog has left me with an immense joy as I believed that the only ones who would have been reading would be my friends and family. Now I want to hear from you as well, so feel free leave a comment on a post that you like or contact me via my contact page.

Again, thanks so much and I am extremely honored.

You’re Simply The Best,

Natz.
